This time on 14 tracks:

“14 tracks of downward acid”

Acid House has swung in and out of fashion since its late 80's heyday, and although there's a seemingly endless line of contemporary producers enamoured with classic Jack templates, we're particularly fond of those less conventional variations tipping into the deepside. Some of these tracks are slow, hypnotic configurations, some messed up and woozy, while others only loosely evoke the spirit of Acid House, but what unites them all is an off-centre aesthetic built around sparse percussion and a minimal blueprint that's as spacious as it is filthy and fierce. All things being equal, we'd rather JACK then, errr, what was that band called?

“The Ovatow Track is Lovely!”

At http://bovineradio.wordpress.com I'm always scouring or downloading from boomkat for the radio show I produce. It's nice with this 14 tracks selection to come across artists I am not overly familar with. I am a HUGE fan of acid and came here looking for some rare-ish baby ford but was pleasantly surprised by the Ovatow - I like acid with a warm atmosphere and this has it. Come say hi on my page!

sang "I'd Rather Jack (Than Fleetwood Mac)". The irony that acid-house would morph into balaeric and we'd all be dancing to Arthur Bakers' remix of Fleetwood Mac's "Big Love" would surely be lost on them, wherever they are now...

“JTC”

JTC is the king of jack (and maybe the prince of acid, I don't know). So it's good to see you picked a few of his tracks.
