“14 tracks - where Jazz is the Teacher”

Jazz has informed and exerted influence over artists operating in pretty much every kind of contemporary music that comes to mind. This selection (with a title borrowed from one of the most important Techno tracks of all time) brings together music from disparate disciplines - all with an aesthetic debt to Jazz. The music ranges from broken beat through to deep House, film music through to Finnish improvisation, electronically modified jazz standards through to a Jazz infused cover version of Kraftwerk...

“right on”

this presentation (14 tracks) is a really good idea - I'd rather hear some tracks grouped under an aesthetic theme with short comments rather than browse tracks grouped by album with comments that go on a bit too much (like on boomkat.com) - also I value the mix selections the curators actually make and a convenient way to hear related stuff in one place ... it will require some dedication and focus for you to maintain the quality and coherence of the mixes over time - but I think it could be well worth the effort... the mixes you create could be why I buy downloads here rather than another site... I often read the "employee favorite" lists on the Other Music website and browse and buy from that stuff, but the groups of 14 on one page is so much easier and quicker BTW - I'm browsing my 4th mix (group of 14) so far and my cart contains 12 tracks I will buy and I've twice linked back to Boomkat to buy additional tracks from an album included in a mix. again, good idea - thanks

amazing idea. havent heard a bad track yet. altho i agree with whoever wrote before that £14 is a bit much for 14 tracks, but i would happily pay £7 or £8 for them. also i think a play all function would be good.
